네비암송 (34) 예수 그리스도를 "믿고 마음에 모셔들어", "하나님의 자녀"가 됩니다 (요한복음 1장 12절 / B-5 그리스도를 모셔야 함)

 

요한복음 1:12 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니 (개역개정) 1:12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of (NIV)

1:12–13 To receive Christ is not like passively receiving a letter in your mailbox. Instead, it means to welcome him (based on his substitutionary atonement), like one welcomes a guest into one’s home. Those who do so are adopted into the family of God as his children. To believe in Jesus’s name is to believe in his person (who he is) and work (what he has done) (1:12). When someone receives and believes in Jesus for the free gift of eternal life, he undergoes a supernatural birth, the impartation of spiritual life. 1:12–13 Reference to children of God builds on the OT characterization of Israel as God’s children (Dt 14:1; cp. Ex 4:22). Born, not of natural descent … but of God makes clear that true children of God come into being through faith in Messiah, not physical birth or ethnic descent (8:41–47; cp. 3:16). This opens the way for Gentiles to become God’s children (11:51–52; cp. 10:16). 하나님의 자녀라는 말씀은, 이스라엘 백성을 하나님의 자녀로 인정하는 구약의 특징에 기반하는 것입니다. 하나님의 참된 자녀는 육체적 출생이나 민족적인 혈통이 아니라, 메시야를 믿음으로 생겨나는 것입니다. 이것은 이방인들이 하나님의 자녀가 되는 길을 열어 줍니다.

3:18 SUFFERED FOR SINS. Christ died—as have men and women down through the ages. But his death was different in that it was a full, sufficient, and adequate sacrifice that atones for the sins of all people. ONCE FOR ALL. The sacrifices in the temple had to be repeated over and over again; Christ’s sacrifice was the final and perfect sacrifice through which all people in all ages may obtain salvation. THE RIGHTEOUS FOR THE UNRIGHTEOUS. 이사야 53:6 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 무리의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다 (개역개정) 53:6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. (NIV)

 

53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray. We all rebel against the Lord, our Shepherd-King (40:11; 49:9–10; 1 Peter 2:25). iniquity. Or guilt. God counted against or imputed to His Servant the guilt of sinners and laid the punishment for their sins upon Him (Gal. 3:10, 13). us all. The “we” in this context consists of sinners (all we) who once thought little of the Servant (vv. 2–3) but were redeemed and healed by His death (vv. 4–6) and now confess the gospel to others (v. 1). 로마서 3:23 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 3:24 그리스도 예수 안에 있는 속량으로 말미암아 하나님의 은혜로 값없이 의롭다 하심을 얻은 자 되었느니라 3: 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

 

3:23 All have missed the mark that God intended for the human race and have lost the glory of the original creation (Ps. 8:5). Believing the good news starts the process of the restoration of glory (Rom. 8:30; 2 Cor. 3:18). 모든 사람은 하나님께서 인류에게 의도하신 과녁을 놓치고 원래의 창조의 영광을 잃어버렸습니다. 복음을 믿는 것은, 영광을 회복하는 과정을 시작하는 것입니다.

3:24 Justified means that Christians are declared to be righteous (5:1, 9; 8:30; 1Co 1:30; 6:11). Sinners stand condemned in God’s court, and yet he declares believers “not guilty” because of Jesus’s work on the cross. Freely means that God grants justification not due to any merit in Christians but solely by his grace, the undeserved love and mercy of God. Redemption is a commercial term that refers to purchasing freedom for slaves. All people are slaves to sin by their fallen nature. The purchase price for our freedom was the blood of Christ Jesus (see Mk 10:45; 1Pt 1:18–19). “의롭다하심” 이라는 것은,  그리스도인들은 의롭다고 선언되었음을 의미합니다. 죄인들은 하나님의 법정에서 정죄를 받았지만, 그러나 예수님의 십자가에서 행하신 일 때문에 신자들을 “무죄”라고 선하신다는 의미입니다. “값없이” 라는 것은, 그리스도인 안에 있는 어떤 공로 때문이 아니라, 오직 하나님의 은혜, 하나님의  과분한 사랑과 자비로 의롭다 하심을 주신다는 뜻입니다. “속량” 이라는 것은, 노예가 자유롭게 되기 위하여 그 자유를 사는 것을 가리키는 상업적인 용어입니다. 모든 사람은 그들의 타락한 본성으로 인하여 죄의 종이 되었습니다. 우리의 자유를 얻기 위한 값은, 예수 그리스도의 피였습니다.

* 핵심 말씀

히브리서 9:27 한 번 죽는 것은 사람에게 정해진 것이요 그 후에는 심판이 있으리니 28 이와 같이 그리스도도 많은 사람의 죄를 담당하시려고 단번에 드리신 바 되셨고 구원에 이르게 하기 위하여 죄와 상관 없이 자기를 바라는 자들에게 두 번째 나타나시리라 (개역개정) 27 People have to die once. After that, God will judge them. 28 In the same way, Christ was offered up once. He took away the sins of many people. He will also come a second time. At that time he will not suffer for sin. Instead, he will come to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. (Nirv)

 

9:27–28 appointed … to die once. Every person has but a single life before eternal judgment. This repudiates reincarnation and any idea that there will be a second chance to believe after death, since immediately after the reference to the fact of death comes the phrase “and after that comes judgment,” with no hint of any intervening opportunity for change of status. The final judgment will take place when Christ comes again—he died once as an offering for the sins of many, and he will appear a second time in judgment, when he will save his followers. those who are eagerly waiting for him. This clear anticipation of Christ’s return (see 10:25; cf. Rom. 8:19, 23, 25; 1 Cor. 1:7; Gal. 5:5; Phil. 3:20) calls all who hope for salvation to expectant perseverance. 한 번 죽는 것은 정해진 것이요 : 모든 사람은 영원한 심판 이전에 단 한 번 뿐인 생명을 가지고 있습니다. 이것은 윤회 그리고 사후에 믿음을 가질 수 있는 두 번째 기회가 있을 것이라는 생각을 거부합니다. 죽음에 대해서 언급한 직후에 “그 후에는 심판이 있으리니” 라는 문구가 나오며 지위를 변경할 수 있는 기회의 개입에 대한 암시가 전혀 없기 때문입니다. 최후의 심판은 그리스도께서 다시 오실 때 있을 것입니다. 그는 많은 사람의 죄를 위한 제물로 한번 죽으셨고, 심판 때에 두 번째 나타나실 것인데, 그 때에 그를 따르는 자들을 구원하실 것입니다. 자기를 바라는 자들에게 : 이것은 그리스도의 재림에 대한 분명한 기대이며, 구원을 바라는 모든 이들에게 재림에 대한 기대를 가지고 인내하기를 요구합니다.

* 리딩 크리스천 묵상

예수님을 믿는다고 자신의 입으로 말하지만, 예수님이 십자가에서 죽으셨다고 고백은 하지만, 의외로 그 의미에 대해서 정확하게 이해하지 못하는 분들이 계십니다. 존파이퍼 목사님이 강조하시는 것처럼, 예수님께서 죄를 담당하셨고, 이것이 기독교의 핵심입니다. 내가 죄인이기 때문에 마땅히 죽음으로 그 댓가를 치뤄야 하는데, 예수님께서 그 모든 댓가를 치르시고 죽으셨습니다.

히브리서 말씀은 우리가 죽은 이후에 반드시 심판이 있다고 말씀합니다. 무슨 의미인가요? 세상 사람들이 주장하는 것 처럼, 죽음 이후에 윤회나 혹은 Second Chance는 없습니다. 만약 당신이 예수님을 믿지 않는다면, 지금 당장 자신의 죄를 예수님 앞에 고백하고 당신의 구원자로 받아들여야 합니다. 그것만이 예수님이 하신 일을 당신의 선물로 받을 수 있는 유일한 길입니다.

그렇다면 예수님이 죄를 담당하신 역사적 사실이 실제의 우리의 삶 가운데 어떤 의미를 가질까요? 파이퍼 목사님은 죽음이 더 이상 우리의 형벌이 아니라는 것에 강조점을 둡니다. 죽음을 가까이에서 경험하게 되면, 그것이 얼마나 비참한 것이며 얼마나 우리를 분노하게 하는 것인지를 깨닫게 됩니다. 사랑하는 사람을 죽음으로 잃게 된다는 것은, 삶의 가장 큰 아픔입니다. 그리고 파이퍼 목사님의 말씀처럼, 우리는 죽음을 간접적으로 경험할 때 마다, 여전히 세상에는 죄가 위력을 발휘하고 있음을 알게 됩니다.

그러나 히브리서 9장 27-28절은 우리의 죄를 위하여 죽으신 예수님은 다시 승천하셨고 이 땅에 반드시 재림하실 것을 약속하고 계십니다. 예수님께서는 그분을 믿고 바라는 모든 이들을 바로 그날에 온전히 구원하실 것입니다. 그러므로 진정한 그리스도인은, 죽음을 경험할 때에 절망이 아니라 소망을 가지는 자들입니다. 그리스도는 오실 것이며, 인내로서 그분을 기다린 사람들에게 그분의 완전한 구원을 반드시 선물로 주실 것입니다.
