요한1서 1:8 만일 우리가 죄가 없다고 말하면 스스로 속이고 또 진리가 우리 속에 있지 아니할 것이요 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1:9 만일 우리가 우리 죄를 자백하면 그는 미쁘시고 의로우사 우리 죄를 사하시며 우리를 모든 불의에서 깨끗하게 하실 것이요 (개역개정) 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (NIV)
1:9 God says that we are sinners in need of forgiveness. To confess is to agree with Him, to admit that we are sinners in need of His mercy. If a believer confesses his or her specific sins to God, He will cleanse all unrighteousness from that person. Forgiveness and cleansing are guaranteed because God is faithful to His promises. Those promises are legitimate because God is just. God can maintain His perfect character and yet forgive us because of the perfect and righteous sacrifice of Jesus, His own Son 하나님께서는 우리가 용서가 필요한 죄인이라고 말씀하십니다. 자백한다는 것은 그분의 말씀에 동의하는 것이며, 우리가 그분의 자비가 필요한 죄인임을 시인하는 것입니다. 만약 신자가 자신의 구체적인 죄들을 하나님께 자백하면, 하나님께서는 그 사람으로부터 모든 불의를 깨끗하게 하실 것입니다. 용서와 정결케 하심이 보장되는 이유는 하나님께서 자신의 약속에 신실하시기 때문입니다. 또한 하나님은 공의로우신 분이기에 그 약속들은 정당합니다. 하나님께서는 그분의 아들이신 예수님의 온전하고 의로운 희생 덕분에, 자신의 완전한 성품을 유지하시면서도 우리를 용서하실 수 있는 것입니다.

아버지 하나님감사합니다. 어린양 예수그리스도를 이땅에 보내시고, 십자가를 통하여 죄인을 용서하시기 위한 모든 일들을 친히 행하시니 감사드립니다. 죄인인 제가 저의 죄를 진심으로 인정하며 하나님의 은혜를 구할 때에, 신실하신 하나님께서 예수님의 공로를 인하여 저를 용서하시니 감사드립니다. 오늘도 주님과 교제하며 동행하기 원합니다. 예수님 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘 Father God, thank You for sending Jesus, the Lamb of God, to save us through the Cross.
