잠언 3:5 너는
마음을 다하여 여호와를 신뢰하고 네 명철을 의지하지 말라 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 3:6 너는 범사에 그를 인정하라 그리하면 네 길을 지도하시리라 (개역개정)
3:6 in all your
ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (NIV)
3:5–8 Few
verses boil down the essence of proverbial wisdom like these. They are popular
because of their profound simplicity. Simply put: wisdom is trusting in the
Lord, and foolishness is trusting in oneself. If we think we are wise, then we
are actually foolish, but if we recognize we are not wise
and look to the Lord for wisdom, then we can become wise. Ever
since Eden, people have rejected the word of God in order to be
wise in their own eyes, but through Proverbs people may once again attain true
wisdom from the Lord. 잠언의 지혜의 본질을 이와 같이 압축한 구절은 거의 없습니다. 이 말씀은 그 심오한 단순성 때문에 잘 알려져 있습니다. 간단히 말해서, 지혜는 주님을 신뢰하는 것이고, 어리석음은 자신을 신뢰하는 것입니다. 우리가 스스로 지혜롭다고 생각하면 실제로는 어리석은 자이지만, 자신이 지혜롭지 못함을 깨닫고 지혜를 구하기 위하여 주님을 바라보면 지혜로워질 수 있습니다. 에덴 동산 때부터 사람들은 자기 눈에 지혜롭게 되기 위하여 하나님의 말씀을 거절했지만, 잠언을 통해서 다시 한번 주님으로 부터의 참된 지혜를 얻을 수 있습니다.

3:6 To know God in
all your ways is to invite his presence into all daily activities and decisions. Make your paths straight (or smooth) means that God will make
righteousness attainable. “범사에 그를 인정한다”는 것은, 매일의 모든 활동과 결정들 속으로
그분의 임재를 초대하는 것입니다. “네 길을 지도하시리라” 라는 것은, 하나님께서 우리가 의로움을 얻게 하실 것이다 라는 뜻입니다.

3:5 Trust Yahweh
Since wisdom comes from Yahweh (Prov 2:6), He must be trusted. This often
involves relying on God’s wisdom rather than human wisdom (v. 7). It
involves doing the right thing when a situation presents itself and trusting
God as guide; it involves morality and the process of discernment. God
has given people rational ability, and Proverbs assumes people will use it to
make good decisions. However, the book cautions against
depending on rational abilities alone. Proverbs urges everyone to keep God in
mind in everything they do (v. 6); this is how a person’s life progresses
toward God’s goals. 여호와를 신뢰하고 : 지혜는 여호와로부터 나오기 때문에, 그를 신뢰해야 합니다. 이것은 종종 인간의 지혜보다 하나님의 지혜를 의지하는 것을 포함합니다. 여기에는 상황이 닥쳤을 때 옳은 일을 하고 하나님을 인도자로 신뢰하는 것, 즉 도덕성과 분별의 과정이 포함됩니다. 하나님께서는 사람들에게 이성적인 능력을 주셨고, 잠언은 사람들이 그것을 이용하여서 좋은 결정을 내릴 것이라고 전제합니다. 그러나, 잠언은 이성적 능력에만 의존하는 것을 경계합니다. 잠언은 모든 사람이 모든 자신이 하는 일에서 하나님을 마음에 반드시 기억하라고 촉구합니다. 이것이 바로 한 사람의 삶이 하나님의 목표를 향해 나아가는 방식입니다.
