네비암송 (30) "끔찍한 죄인"인 나를 위하여, "존귀한 예수님"이 죽으셨습니다 (로마서 5장 8절 / B-3 그리스도가 형벌을 받음)

로마서 5:8 우리가 아직 죄인 되었을 때에 그리스도께서 우리를 위하여 죽으심으로 하나님께서 우리에 대한 자기의 사랑을 확증하셨느니라 (개역개정) 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (NIV)

5:6–8 The greatness of God’s love contrasts infinitely with even the noblest acts of love that are possible for the natural man, for it is revealed in the voluntary death of the best, Jesus Christ, for the worst (Gal. 2:20; Eph. 5:25; 1 John 4:9–10). 하나님의 사랑의 위대함은, 심지어 보통의 사람이 할 수 있는 가장 고귀한 사랑의 행위와 무한히 대조됩니다. 왜냐하면 가장 위대한 예수 그리스도께서 가장 최악의 인간들을 위하여 자발적으로 죽으셨기 때문입니다.

5:6–8 We can be sure of God’s love since he did so much for us when we were helpless. We were ungodly, we were still sinners, and we were his enemies (v. 10). Jesus died for that kind of person. The word translated “for” is the Greek preposition huperused in substitution contexts. Jesus diedin our place. God freely chooses to love us and by doing so confers worth on us through our faith in him. 우리가 하나님의 사랑을 확신할 수 있는 것은, 우리가 무력할 때에 하나님께서 우리를 위해 많은 일을 하셨기 때문입니다. 우리는 경건하지 않았으며, 우리는 여전히 죄인이었으며 우리는 그분의 원수였습니다. 예수님께서는 바로 그런 종류의 사람을 위해 죽으셨습니다. 하나님께서는 우리를 사랑하시기로 자유롭게 선택하셨으며, 그렇게 하심으로써 그분을 믿는 우리의 믿음을 통해, 우리를 가치 있는 사람으로 만들어주셨습니다.
