6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 6:10 그러므로 우리는 기회 있는 대로 모든 이에게 착한 일을 하되 더욱 믿음의 가정들에게 할지니라 (개역개정) 6:10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (NIV)

6:9 Christians must not become discouraged when they do not see immediate or observable results from their well-doing (a lesson learned from farmers who must wait patiently). Cf Lk 18:1; 2Co 4:1; Eph 3:13.

Edward A. Engelbrecht, The Lutheran Study Bible (St. Louis, MO: Concordia Publishing House, 2009), 2012.

6:910 The Christian life is a marathon race, so we must not grow weary or lose heart. Doing good is not seeking to be justified by works, but living as God has planned for those who have received His gracious salvation through faith (Eph. 2:810). To sow to the Spirit over the long haul means taking the opportunity(Gk kairos; opportune or appointed time) that the Lord places before us to work for the good of all.

A. Boyd Luter, Galatians, in KJV Study Bible (WORDsearch, 2012),  6:910.

6:10 opportunity. This Gr. word refers to a distinct, fixed time period, rather than occasional moments. Paul’s point is that the believer’s entire life provides the unique privilege by which he can serve others in Christ’s name. especially … the household of the faith. Our love for fellow Christians is the primary test of our love for God (see notes on Jn 13:34, 35; Ro 12:10–13; 1Jn 4:21).

John F. MacArthur Jr., The MacArthur Study Bible: New American Standard Bible. (Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson Publishers, 2006),  6:10.

When I feel discouraged because I cannot see the results, I am grateful that you comfort me with your word. During the time you have given me in this life, I want to strive to do your will. I want to love my neighbor as myself and especially love my brothers and sisters in faith. I believe and hope that you will abundantly repay everything. I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
